Eight telemarketing fines handed down in Mississippi


TUPELO, Mississippi (WTVA) – The Mississippi Civil Service Commission has indicted eight companies on charges of making illegal telemarketing calls in Magnolia state.

  • Direct marketing
  • Student Loan Financial Aid, LLC
  • Thrio inc.
  • Marketing Crisp, LLC
  • Transparent BPO, LLC
  • Vacation tour and travel
  • Zealous Services, Inc.

Northern Commissioner Brandon Presley said the calls included arguments for drugs, student loan debt reduction and more.

“We know that they are not the only ones making these calls,” he said on Monday, November 15. “Auto warranty calls keep coming in. We hope to make an announcement next week on them as well.”

Presley said the companies faced fines of more than $ 5 million combined.
